1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Free Screenwriter ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Free Screenwriter.

2. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address and password to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

3. Free Tier

The core screenwriting editor — including project creation, script writing, beat boards, character management, and notes — is free forever. There are no time limits, usage caps, or hidden charges on the editor itself. AI-powered features require credits.

4. AI Credits

AI features (coverage reports, chat, script analysis) consume credits. Credits are purchased through our payment processor, Stripe. All credit purchases are final and non-refundable. Credits do not expire and are not transferable between accounts. Free Screenwriter reserves the right to adjust credit pricing with 30 days notice.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all scripts, story materials, and content you create using Free Screenwriter. We claim no ownership over your creative work. Free Screenwriter's software, interface, and AI models are owned by Free Screenwriter and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

6. Training Data

Free Screenwriter may use anonymized, aggregated, non-attributable data derived from platform usage to improve AI models and service quality. Individual scripts are never shared, sold, or used in any way that identifies you or your work. You may opt out of data collection entirely by contacting us at the address below.

7. Attribution

Crediting your work as "Written with Free Screenwriter" is encouraged but not required. We will never claim co-authorship of your scripts.

8. WGA Compliance

Free Screenwriter's AI features are analysis-only. The AI provides structural feedback, coverage notes, and craft observations. Free Screenwriter does not generate screenplay text, dialogue, or plot elements on your behalf. All creative output in your script is authored by you.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Free Screenwriter to create illegal content, to reverse-engineer or attempt to extract our AI models or proprietary systems, to circumvent any security measures, or to use the Service in any way that violates applicable law. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

10. Disclaimers

AI analysis provided by Free Screenwriter is for creative development purposes only. It does not constitute professional script consulting, legal advice, or representation of any kind. Free Screenwriter is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Free Screenwriter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
